Kilns

A range of professionally built front loading kilns for the discerning potterall capable of firing to stoneware or china temperatures , equally suitable for the home, education, busy studio, or production pottery. The outer case is constructed from heavy gauge precision folded sheet steel, welded together to form a solid foundation to the kiln. The firing chamber is built from the latest high performance lightweight refractory brickwork, backed by super-efficient low thermal mass block insulation.

 Elements are distributed in the sidewalls and floor of the kiln to achieve the optimum temperature uniformity, and all elements in the kiln are usually identical for ease of maintenance, and minimum retention of spares. All elements are wound from the latest development in high temperature resistance wire, for maximum performance, reliability, and long life.

 All kilns are fitted as standard with a door interlock, control contactor, and all necessary internal wiring and connections, ready to be installed to the customer’s supply. All kilns are inspected and tested to BS EN 746-1 to British, European, and Worldwide Standards.

Delivery will be arranged direct to position by specialist carriers using a tailift vehicle, subject to suitable access being available, and approved in advance.

Installation of the power supply will be carried out by the customer’s own local electrical contractor to the necessary requirements shown on the dimensions chart, and connection of the kiln and control accessories to this supply will normally be also carried by the customers own electrician. However, arrangements can be made for our own specialists located in various parts of the country to carry out final installation and testing.

Kilns are normally finished in dark green, but other colours would be available on request.
